Re: mousse can deflate?
As Richard says, they aren’t road legal (mind you, in theory, nor are heavy duty tubes for some unknown, to me, reason). Apart from the cost and speed limiting issues, I didn’t want my wife bearing the brunt of the fallout if I ended up under a truck for any reason that involved a safety check on th...

Re: mousse can deflate?
I used to take my nephew’s moussed FE250 for it’s MOT so he would drop it off to my place a few days before.
For the first mile or so it felt like riding on a flat tyre until it had warmed up a bit - twas ok after that.

Re: Photo chain link...
Link, screwed. We'll, nearly. Stuck in a clay pit. I managed to fall onto my back in it too. https://i.postimg.cc/j5JWhd2c/IMG_20200313_162209302.jpg That would have been ‘interesting’ to pick up if it was a GS or equivalent. I read a travelogue of a naive guy who rode a big Triumph to somewhere in...

Re: One for DavidS
I forgot to add that we followed a guy on a 901 through around 15 miles of Yosemite back in October. Apart from my sobbing, he looked like he was just having meandering fun through the forest, despite the traffic. As the guy in the video said, the weight is low down so you can just roll it around at...

Re: One for DavidS
Hi Daniel The heat is the one thing that got to me when I got stuck on the Canterbury ring road, coincidentally when it was 28c. I only had short summer boots and kevlar jeans, which didn’t help. Absolutely not enough to be a negative but, once the warranty is over, I am told there is a Chinese mini...

Re: One for DavidS
An interesting appraisal that seems very fair and concise. To be honest, we are at the opposite ends of the riding spectrum as I want an adventure set up for road riding so some things that are compromises for him are not even on my radar but I am certainly encouraged/vindicated by my choice. Intere...

Re: Road sign that could be used almost anywhere.
We were in Tuscany a few years ago and their widespread practice, where any rural back road was deteriorating, was to downgrade it to a ‘track’ and just pour a load of dusty gravel over the top. That would be the end of any maintenance. Our brand spanking new Alfa rental car was absolutely rot withi...
