Re: FJ1200. Martyn's feeble effort

Thank you.... I already have the original pair of Yamaha FJ silencers in the loft. My current silencers (Challengers) are OK but the black chrome has lifted and there is a spot or two of corrosion. May have to have a discussion with the FD and/or see just how bad my exhausts are..

Re: FJ1200. Martyn's feeble effort

Thanks, I'll bear that in mind. Nothing needed at the moment.

However, do the Motad Silencers plug into the standard 4:2 collector? Something I may be interested if and when funds allow :)

Re: FJ1200. Martyn's feeble effort

Many people claim that the FJ1200 was the daddy to the FJR. Personally, I think it was more of an early incarnation of a Fazer 1000.

Chain Drive
Half fairing
Stonking Engine
Comfortable

Re: FJ1200. Martyn's feeble effort

Mine is a 1989 3CV - pre ABS. Best mod was to fit Blue Spot Calipers at the front. I can stop it releably now :)

FJ1200. Martyn's feeble effort

Thanks all. She (the bike) does exactly what a bike should do. Granted I won't be doing any off road stuff but I probably wouldn't if I had a dedicated adv bike. My leg as are far too short for that sort of stuff so the bike is a no compromise machine. It does what it should do really well. Got lots...

Re: FJ1200. Martyn's feeble effort

Last night, for a change I thought I would have a bit of a ride out on the bike and knock off another castle in the ABR2016 Castle challenge. Stokesay castle near Ludlow was the main target - about 60 miles away so a nice little bimble over to Whitchurch then the A49 to Shrewsbury then Craven Arms e...

Re: FJ1200. Martyn's feeble effort

Thanks both Yes - very pleased so far. The bike is lovely to ride. Its a bit dated and heavy but incredibly smooth and a fantastic mile muncher. More then enough performance for me and she will be 27 years old on the 1st of August. A bit frayed round the edges but I call that character and every ble...

FJ1200. Martyn's feeble effort

Yep. Jessop way. TBH. I don't do many ride outs with others. I tend not to stop (at all except for Photos and fuel) and it pisses people off. Also got a neurological condition which affects my reactions so prefer to ride at my own pace. But. I wouldn't mind a bimble out sometime to see how we get on...
