Re: Crazy ride attempt by newbie for the Curry Aid Charity.

Think it's a great idea Dubber & certainly doable, my arse managed 540 miles on a VanVan ;) You are going to want a couple of things to prevent the rest of the rally becoming torture though; a sheepskin or airhawk (you will be in transit for anything between 12 - 18 hrs) & a screen for the h...

Re: To camp or not to camp ???

@ leo- david Good call mate, camp site was fine but the views were spectacular (went there just for the sunset) I would say it is pretty busy peak season though with lots of caravans  We went early September & hardly anyone else there. You can even ride a motorbike across the train / footb...

Re: To camp or not to camp ???

Benefits of camping? Plan your site & you always get a room with a view :) Won't find that in a Travelodge IMG_1912.JPG Downside? IMG_2034.JPG This was saturday morning in the New Forest, thought it was a bit chilly in the night  I can manage to fit all I need onto my wee VanVan so you d...

Ok not strictly speaking a road sign but this one has had me scratching my head for nearly a year. Public toilet in a small village somewhere in southern France

Re: 125 for my son

Evening, my son will be doing his CBT soon and was wondering if you have any suggestions for a learner legal 125cc . Good priced , realible and cost effective to run? Thanks I would recommend a VanVan as well having owned one for over 3 years. It would need a quirky teenager to appreciate the styli...

Re: VERY IMPORTANT!!...

Gives you a good excuse to get out to a car boot for a decent sized hip flask Jimbo.

You could always use one of these, pretty tough & won't taint the flavour. Mine survived 7 years until a 3 1/2 tonner ran it over, even then it was only dented.

Re: Looking for advice from glasses wearers...

I went paintballing a while back on a crisp winters morning. I got quite hot & sweaty what with wearing lots of layers & jumping about trying to avoid those pellets (they hurt like b*gg*r). At one point the visor misted so much I was blind & was open season. It was so bad we had to call ...

Re: Muscle bikes

The duc has a few long term niggles for me, chain drive (with all that power!) and is a belt engine! Are they expensive to change belts on? It's a Ducati so would reckon so  Looks like it has a major service at 15000 plus annual service. One thing you have to do on a Ducati is make sure th...

Re: XT 660

I can never understand it when someone blings a bike to the max (not sure there is anything else that can be done to this XT) only to put it up for sale 1 month later. It obviously can't be for lack of funds, unless they just got their credit card statement :pinch: Very tidy looking bike, if only I ...
