Re: March Moto Madness (Wales) 2017
How sad... MMM in it's concept and origin is a low cost or free meeting encouraging folk to get together and enjoy trail riding and to get the Motorcycle season rolling. Traditionally the meetings are FREE or run on 'cover my costs' basis. I know people who loose money on putting these on. Hagg's Ba...

Re: Transalp 650 or Tiger 955i
I know a lot of very experienced RTW riders... 50% of them are on Transalp 700's for their general 'do everything bike' I've never had one but everyone loves them. They're very easy to ride, got plenty of usable power and have every touring accessory available. You really can't go wrong on one. Espe...

Re: Transalp 650 or Tiger 955i
I've owned and travelled on both bikes you mention. Tiger 955i has a stonkingly good motor. It's a well made bike too. However it's VERY HEAVY and top heavy too. It also has a FI bug that requires a TOR exhaust and re-map to sort it out. After that it's a great road bike. Good for passengers too. Th...

Re: Recommend me a multi-bike insurer...
I gave up years ago with multi bike insurance as they just try to scam you...found it much cheaper to get separate policies. Problem there is that you can only use your NCD on ONE policy at a time. Some folk don't realist this and tell both insurance companies that they have no claims. It invalidat...

Re: Dealer specific tools
Funny you should say that. I've just moved into a new 8000sq/ft factory unit. I just have too many toys and tools hahaPeirre wrote: I've stated before that I don't need a house with a big garage to house my toys, just a factory unit for them, with a caravan in the corner for me to sleep in.

Re: Welding porn
I did some welding qualifications a few years back. I've spent a lot of dough on TIG and MIG gear and I weld regularly. I'm still no where near as clean and tidy as those.

Re: Dealer specific tools
You don't need most of the special tools. Many times they just make life easier for dealers because time is money. You don't need the Triumph cam tool for Triumphs. I just pull the cams. Only takes another 20 mins. Timing an engine really isn't difficult if you're methodical. After 15 years in the t...

Re: EFI fuel filter, after the pump
Many bikes have two filters.
Most in-tank pumps have a filter in their scavenge and then a filter just prior to the fuel rail.
There is no problem fitting a filter after the pump but it has to allow handle to flow rate and pressure.
Why not pull one from a scrapped EFI bike.

Christmas is horrible. It's just vile consumerism, in-balanced capitalism and every arsehole is sucking on it's big swollen hypre-marketed nipple.
