You could have two problems here. How cold is "chilly"? - I'm thinking you might have a bit of carb icing. Whilst you had a smoke the heat from the engine defrosted your carb allowing the restart. Heated grips, and repeated attempts to restart may have then flattened your battery. Just a t...

you can try on the Klim range, various "adventure" boots, helmets etc at Adventure Bike Warehouse in Manchester.

Used the new Tangier-Med port a couple of weeks ago - no touters or hassling at all.
There were a few touters/hasslers behind the tall fencing though, but a good distance away and easy to ignore. The police seem to be keeping the area clear - thumbs up!
