The emulators only affect the compression circuit, so if thinner oil is used the rebound will be too fast as it still flows though the original rebound damping hole near the top of the damper rod. Therefore the only way to control rebound damping is with oil viscosity. To allow the emulator to work ...

Can you adjust the spring on the emulator ? backing it off would let the valve open sooner ie let more oil through with less force required.

Bought this a few years ago for a trip that never happened and so never used on the bike. Everything looks as it should except for the two lower buckles underneath that do not work but could be easily replaced.
These rarely come up for sale £100 incl P&P to UK mainland
