Re: Swartberg Pass.....WOW

I’ll share the route when I am home later.

I keep a bike out there but just sold it to another chap on the forum here. I rented the Xt660r my pal was riding in the video from Craig Marshall in Somerset West. He was a good guy so worth looking up.

Swartberg Pass.....WOW

I’ve done it a few times on my XT660z. Pass itself is great, Die Hel (accessed from north side even better).

Are you taking in Baviaanskloof as well (@ 1:40 in the video)? And Prince Albert’s Pass?

Re: TCAT 2020 June set-off

Hi flipflopdog - looks like a fun trip. Have you sorted your bike insurance arrangements yet? If so who are you using?

I’m planning on riding the TAT this year (but starting and finishing in Canada) and not yet sure how to sort this.

Cheers

Trail Bike advice please

I ride a bit in mid-wales. My advice is to think long and hard about tank range before you commit. I had a KTM 350 Freeride for 6 years. Incredibly confidence inspiring (99kgs) bike which I really liked, but i couldn’t ride the routes i wanted to ride in a day due to fuel range. Had to trailer it to...

Re: Can’t login using Tapatalk

I am having this issue (not been able to see the forum for a couple of weeks). Have tried updating the app & also logging out and trying to log back in but problem persists.

Anyone else having this issue?

Any ideas?

route des cols

Hi Julian 8 days is fine, St Malo to Carcassonne isn’t! I’d take a couple of days to get down through France. Some many great options on the way. Try the Pyrenees part of this (ignore the diversion to Toulouse - long story!): https://goo.gl/maps/L29Q7oMLM1Mk2RWs8 Some good roads here on the way down...

Adventure bike options?

So i currently (temporarily) have a XT660z, 701 and Tiger 800. Lets park the Tiger. i love it, way more powerful than the others but its essentially a (great) road bike. Took the XT660z from Cape Town to Kenya, and two other off road trips in Africa so done loads off the tarmac. It is no trail bike ...

Re: Exeter Trial

I rode the trial on my Husqvarna 701 this year - as ever it was great fun. 12th year on this trial for me. For anyone reading this thread thinking i’d like to try that, do it! The next event is the Lands End trial, which starts good Friday 10/4. Basic format: - pick start point (Cornwall, Glos, Hant...

Cruise control on a bike - what are our thoughts?

Another believer here. Had it on my last two bikes and crossed bikes off my short list that did not have it at my last change (Africa Twin and Verys - think both have it now). Good for speed control but also on motorways generally. Easy to cover big miles and to use just to relax your right hand/sho...
