Re: The Honda Africa twin 1000 , warts and all.

Good grief! This post has certainly sprouted limbs! I was one of the few that pre-ordered a CRF1000 Africa Twin and can only point out I've had it a couple of months and have quite a few miles on mine now, love the bike and had absolutely no problems with the bike. Believe what you like, ride what y...

Re: anybody here have more then two bikes???

I've had collections, a couple of times, but now I just keep what I need and what I plan to run. My main squeeze, the new CRF1000L Africa twin, with a Triumph Bonneville as a runaround town, the last being Viagra, my 920 Yamaha Virago! If you have the space, go for it! I'm happy now with my lot, alt...

A Saturday ride to Pennan, Aberdeenshire

Hi all, I took my new Africa twin out for a run today as the weather was reasonable here in Elgin, Morayshire. The rain appeared to be closing in from the south and the west but to the east of me seemed to be the best bet so I headed along the coast toward Aberdeenshire. The local endure club were h...

Re: continental tkc80 twinduro

Riding style is a major factor in tyre wear, 2k miles to the limit with the rear TKC80 on my Varadero, 3k on my Africa Twin. love the tyres but too expensive for road riding.
I'm going to try the Anakee wilds on my new Africa twin this summer, tread looks good, hopefully wear will be good.

Re: Ullapool in February! By Honda CRF1000 Africa twin

Hi Jim ,great too hear the bikes doing well,. Iv a vested interest , any bad points warts & All. Cheers bud.Al In all honesty Al, I haven't really found any faults as yet, the bike's only done 500 odd miles so maybe something will come up! (Apart from the front wheel!) Today, a bit of spirited ...

Re: Ullapool in February! By Honda CRF1000 Africa twin

Nice bike Jim, I too looked at one today same colour as yours but was fitted with the higher screen! a bit buffet and I'm 6ft 2 so was just above screen height. How do you find the standard screen? It does ride really well, and I really liked the bike enough power and I'm considering it over the ne...

Re: Ullapool in February! By Honda CRF1000 Africa twin

Nice pictures Jim, looks like you had a really good run. Got to agree Scotland is fantastic if you get the weather. Was out on my CRF as well today, albeit its wee brother! phone166.jpg ! I'm considering one of those as a second bike instead of my heavy horse Bonneville! I might wait and see how th...

Re: Ullapool in February! By Honda CRF1000 Africa twin

I've ridden hundreds of bikes over my years, worked with them as a mechanic, I know everyone has their own idea of what makes them tick, even preconceptions can be wrong, for example, I never believed I would love the Ducati powered Cagiva Elefant to such an extent as class it as one of my top three...
