Re: Go Big and Ride Small

Yes, she does . What I would like to know is How she can financially afford it all? Is she a millionaire, or sponsored? Genuine question. She was a mining geologist. She sold her house and all of her possessions in order to do this. She earns quite a bit from the YouTube channel. I think her clothi...

Re: camping cooking pot, your thoughts

Have a look at Zebra billy pots (with metal clips) and also the 16" saucepan type pots. Bushcraft Store UK These are bomb proof, and can take the weight of a car wheel on top of them. You can also buy Trangia pots, kettles and pans separately, and they also do a folding handled frying pan. Tran...

Re: Waterproof jacket

I've got a Rukka jacket which is excellent, and so it should be for the money. It works well and I use it as my general jacket whilst riding about. However, I've also gone down the layering route with Adventure Spec stuff, which I use for holidays, as I can use the Linesman jacket in the evenings wi...

Re: THE GUY WHO SAVED BMW

I heard or read somewhere that the R80g/s was going to be the last of the boxer engines and production was moving to be all K 'brick' engines.

However, the success of the g/s changed all that and the flat twin has been one of their most successful engines.

Re: 3k to spend. What would you buy?

Depends what you want the bike for, but for £3k, you'd get either a good R1150GS or an R1200GS for that easily.

If you wanted an off-roader, easily get a DRZ 400.

Re: Double camp bed.

When we go family camping we take an Outwell double mattress. It is a self inflating mat but it really is the most comfortable one I've ever slept on, in a tent. They've changed the design a bit since I got mine so I assume it's better. https://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/15905705/outwell-dreamcatcher-doub...

Re: Beta alp 200

Having had a Beta Alp 4.0, I would look at a few different bikes to do detailed comparisons with. I found the Alp was very cheaply finished and put together, I'd have probably been better buying a second hand something else, than getting the Alp. My advice would be have a good poke around one, with ...

Re: THE CCM MAVIRICK

If you want something with classic looks and you're going to pay over £10k then why not get your own built to suit your individual requirements. These 4 are in the region of 170 - 180 kgs wet, with fuel. They perform well off road and on, from motorways to the TET across the Pyrenees and green lanes...

Re: Blow up sleeping mat - Any recommendations?

A lot of folk seem to be going for either Therm-a-Rest Neo air or Exped mats. I've always been happy with a normal Therm-a-Rest. If you review them on websites, they now rate them with some sort of thermal value so that you can tell how good they will be in colder weather. If I was getting a new one...
