Re: Communication

I think if you want inter-bike comma then there are no cheap quality solutions. If it's something that you'll use regularly, then buy the best you can. Plenty of options around and often some good secondhand deals about from the usual suspects, Scala etc. I've been looking at a company called Uclear...

Re: CAMEL TOE

Perhaps Kickstand or sidestand extension, would be a better search?
Or make one from some scrap ally or steel?
I just made one for my WR250 from some bits I found in the garage and secured it with some small bolts drilled through the stand.

Re: Off Road in France

Thanks for the replies.
I'm thinking now that indicators fitted to deliberately fool the gendarmes is probably a bad idea.

Off Road in France

First week in June I'm off to France. I will be riding with a mate from just outside Agen to La Roche Sur Yon. The idea being to stay off road as much as is possible. We have a preliminary route planned out, but as this was done mainly from Memory Map and Google Earth, I expect that there will be pl...

Re: Adventure style helmet with flip chin?

I've done many internet searches to find such a thing as a "flip front adventure helmet" but to no avail. I'm not even sure it's possible to do it and be able to ride with the chin bar up. In the end I also got a Shark Evo 2 which I use mainly with the chin bar up, but down when the weathe...

Re: WW1 Battlefield tour

I've done a couple of "guided" trips to this area and have been moved to tears each time. As a former fireman I am also in awe of Ypres Fire Brigade, who have played the last post every night since the end of WW1 with the exception of when Belgium was occupied by the Nazis. An interesting ...

Re: EXC, WR or other

I have a WR250F which is used soley for greenlaning. It's easy and cheap to maintain and light enough for the regular picking up it gets from numerous little "lie downs" I am only a novice, but it has done a trip round the peak district including the trail down Stanage Edge, which the bike...

Re: Socket for GPS

Realised it was time to do something similar as the battery on my SatMap wouldn't last as long as I needed it too. As I've wired it direct from the battery, I have also put in a small switch.

Re: Multi Tool

I carry a leatherman and also a motion pro trail tool.
The latter was a little expensive, but for the number of times I've used it, it's been good value.

Re: GPS tracking app for iPhone

Thank you for that.
Just downloaded it and it included France which was what I was after.
Also I was able to upload a coup of .gpx routes for when I do my French trip. Just brilliant really, to buy the maps areas I needed for my SatMap was going to cost around £200
