Re: Lazy starting !!!

Not sure if this helps but I've had a gel battery on a Cagiva Gran Canyon fail like this, Started the bike when cold but would not start the bike when warm, measured 13V or so when sitting but refused to turn the starter motor, I assumed it was a cell internally failing when warmed up by charging/he...

Re: Is non-automated traffic enforcement dead?

Not just learners, when I had to do a driving course, a few years ago, for work because of a company car I was told off for using indicators when no one was around, in my polite way I challenged this and said what about any other road users I had not seen, I was told that if my observations were cor...

Re: France - reflective helmet stickers. Has anyone been stopped without them?

The application of this is exactly the same as the UK saying rear number plates are yellow, front white and then asking anyone from France (or elsewhere) to change their plates when driving in the UK. Helmets must reach a minimum European safety standard but the reflective sticker will apply to eith...

Re: Plans for 2018?

Going to make it to Italy this summer after being sidelined with mechanical problems last summer.

Want to do some weekend camping trips in the UK to get back into the swing of it.

Might take a quick trip back to Ireland (lived in Galway for 13 years) to revisit some old haunts at some point

Re: Spray to unseize stuff?

WD40 is not a good penetrating fluid, works well for moisture removal and some simple lubrication but it doesn't penetrate as well as products designed specifically for the job. Go to your local motor factors and buy a penetrating fluid designed to help disassembly and you'll be amazed at how easy s...

Re: Spray to unseize stuff?

+1 on the ATF plus Acetone, or even ATF + Meths, don't know why ATF is so good, might be the additives, but it's my go to solution for seized assemblies on my old MG

Re: New Zealand bike hire

I hired from someone in Christchurch a few years ago, can't for the life of me remember their name but they were Triumph dealers, I will try and find the info but moving house tomorrow and it's all a bit of a mess. I took the train and ferry down from Auckland to Christchurch, brilliant scenery and ...
