try approaching some Chinese manufacturers for sponsorship on one of their bikes, they need some good press maybe you can find one with imagination.

without considering breaking belts,chains etc the most common reason for breaking valves is poorly adjusted tappets.So you are correct in thinking good maintenance should preserve your valves.But if you have them out you should get some paste and re-seat them.

been on the phone all day trying to get multibike quotes, seems to get more difficult each year. certainly this year they are less eager to compete.

contrary to popular belief grp is not waterproof, only the gel coat is impervious to water and that would need to be on the inside of the tank , even a pinhole in the gel will leak.I would go for stainless,plastic or bags..

On most boats cooling water comes out with the exhaust gases.

I have called that company a couple of times looking for used bike parts, they were more expensive than buying new from the dealer. So I can guarantee the said bike will not be a bargain.
