Rst adventure pro
Used the Hein Gericke Pro shell kit myself for the last 3ish years and I have to say it has stood up really well. Even in some major downpours I've stayed toasty and dry. But it wasn't that cheap but having seen the odd person slide down the road in sub standard kit it's something I've never minded ...

Re: Whats the most important bit of kit you carry?
Leatherman, card, tie wraps, ear plugs and a hipflask of whiskey :) Keep trying beer but after many repeat attempts I can confirm it doesn't go well with green lanes. Although, I've recently extended my standard tool kit to include tire irons, puncture repair kit, a couple sockets, pump in addition ...

Couldn't agree more, each time I take it out I'm impressed with it.
On the MTC side of things, I'm going to give the double baffle idea a try. Will post my findings later on. I've read in a few places that they're similar to a 400 enduro bike.... But I'll reserve judgment

Re: Just bought a new (to me) bike Tenere. Could do with a bit of guidance too
Cheers Phil... Got the tip! Stop messing about and gun it  Just finished exchanging mails with the MTC guys and xt660.com. I think the order of the day is: - titanium can - save a bit weight and get rid of the cat. - kev mod - air filter with redbikejohns tip to remove the snorkel I'll consid...

Cheers Redbikejohn, I'm not the only one then. Trickle charge it is for now then. What are the knobblies like on the road, I tend to ride a good 100 miles on the road to get to the good stuff.

Cheers guys, will get the battery checked out. Didn't think it was right but thought I'd see if anyone else had any bother.

Re: Just bought a new (to me) bike Tenere. Could do with a bit of guidance too
Great thread. Picked my 660 up last summer and have say it's my best bike purchase in a long time. The mix of on and off road is spot on. Debated for a long time an enduro bike but the service intervals and the fact I wanted to ride it to green lanes swung me this way. Only done some basic mods. 12v...
