Re: What went wrong on your bike today?
On Day 1 of a long trip my Garmin 390 LM just stopped charging. The light dimmed and it turned itself on and off a few times. Once the stored battery power dwindled it just died. I hadn’t brought the correct cable to charge it as it usually charges fine, so I bought a USB with the other end that fi...

Re: What went wrong on your bike today?
That’s nothing! I printed out my new insurance and looking forward to the first ride of the year, then to my horror, discovered that the MoT I thought was valid until October, actually ran out last month. Tears wiped away and MoT booked. Quick update, tried to book repairs and thought I'd add the a...

Had a bit of mechanical failure today so I thought I'd give us all a place to share issues. Riding my 1995 DR200 to the office today and at the traffic lights before the M4 my rear wheel locked up, I'm very lucky it didn't happen at speed. I dragged the bike onto a triangle of grass and realised the...

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
I agree, Many 250s are heavy bikes, I tried V strom DL 1000, DL 650 and DL 250. Back to back some years ago. 650 was well up to the job, so I had no use for a 1000. But when I tested the 250, it felt as the 650 bike with a smaller engine in it. Of course that engine weighted less than the 650 engin...

Re: crf250 Rally
thanks for the info, Hugh .. A little above me though :? Took crf out today ... and realised that the `uneven revving` is due to the throttle being too tight, and activating at low revs for a brief moment. :D Bike going well apart from that ... wondering what i thought all the fuss was...
