Re: winter riding any tips?

Here's a new one I learnt today ... Don't ride to work on a cold morning, then put your helmet in a pannier for the day. Everything is cold when you do that - including lots of damp air in the pannier. As the day goes on, the pannier warms up then the air inside warms up. The helmet warms up last. W...

Re: winter riding any tips?

Personally, icy roads and very strong winds are the things which will normally make me take the car. Riding just isn't fun any more. Don't underestimate wind chill at motorbike speeds - layers and layers of insulation will be undermined if the wind can get through, so make sure your outer layer is w...

Re: The beak, what does it do?

well heres my 2 cent, In the newer bikes it probably acts like an airfoil or wing of an aircraft. You see, as the air moves across it,, it will cause a downward force and would make the bike more stable at higher speeds. In he May 2012 issue of "Bike" there is an article about the new Tri...

Re: Is honest (negative) journalism bad taste? How do you like your stories ??

It sounds as though this bloke was a big part of the trip, so leaving him out would force you to distort other parts of the story. I think you have to write about him. However, do you need to identify him? It is the things that he did which are part of the story, rather than who he is. So, can you g...

I won't make it either - had a horrible bug all week and don't seem to be shaking it off. Time to see the GP, and hopefully a course of antibiotics will sort it out.

Will try to be healthy for the Guy Fawkes weekend event.

Re: Camping

I am still pretty new on here, so feel a bit cheeky asking this, but could I take you up on your kind offer?

I had been planning to spend this week gradually making my way up, but I've been down with some virus for a few days so now planning to leave Worcester on Thursday.

Re: Biker down help with bike needed near Ayr

Good to see you have found a solution. If it would help, I could probably ferry some luggage back as far as Worcester for later exchange (I notice your signature refers to Somerset'. I plan on towing a trailer, and should have some spare capacity for the return journey after eating all the food and ...
