Re: 2020 ABR Ireland Rally - Sign Up Thread 8 - 10 May *CANCELLED*
I know it's early but any thoughts on dates for next year yet. Stena have emailed me saying my now open ticket needs booking by 30 Nov for next year. I know I can get a refund but was trying to save the hassle of the argument with them 😂 If you book a date for next year, will they let you change it...

Re: Average speed cameras
I think that the OP is perhaps over estimating the effect of a brief burst of speed to overtake half a dozen vehicles: "So what happens is you get a slow car or heavy truck doing 40 MPH and a long line of cars stuck behind on a 60 MPH road. To pass the heavy truck and say half a dozen cars on t...

Re: covid dystopia
"ok .. so now there is talk of a `shutdown`. Sounds logical. Trouble is .. people like me, the most vulnerable age group, even though I am fit and healthy, apart from a mild cold, .. will be forced, by law, on pain of a huge fine, or imprisonment, to self-isolate (be imprisoned) in their own ho...

Re: Inactive ABS warning light.
Is your battery in good nick and well charged? I don't know whether this is true of the 1200s, but my 850 and 1150 GSs (and 1100RT) wouldn't be able to complete the automatic test process if the battery was a bit low, even if the engine started without any apparent problem. It would regularly happen...

Re: Why don't bikes have rear fog lights?
I suspect that there are three reasons why bikes were not included when fog lights were made compulsory for most vehicles. First, I suspect that at that time, a very large proportion of bikes were still using feeble 6v electrical systems, and I wonder how effective a 6v fog light would be in fog/sno...

Hi FFD
Where are you located? If you are looking for local help, it would be handy to tell us.
I am not one of those loonies who hangs a tent off the side of a vertical rock face, but I have done a fair amount of climbing. If you are near Norwich, I might be able to help.

Re: You tube video brake bleeding
I think this will work most times, but there is one important limitation which he doesn't mention in the video. Bleed nipples are mounted at the highest point on a caliper. Calipers have two ports - the bleed nipple fits in the top one, and the hose from the master cylinder fits in the lower one. Th...

How about these?
https://greenchileadv.com/collections/b ... straps-kit
The short straps with the Camlock is elasticated, and you can simple join the short and long straps together by feeding the end loops through each other to make endless straps.

Re: GSA front brake switch
Unfortunately, I currently have much more familiarity with the AES website than I really want. This is not their fault ... I have an old Landrover, which is currently undergoing a gradual rewire. It seems that 40yrs is the maximum lifetime for 1979 LandRover wiring. Every couple of weeks, a circuit ...

Re: GSA front brake switch
Would a change-over relay help? https://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/product/174/category/36 These have two outputs, and the relay flips between them so one of them is always live. Use the output from your expensive bar steward switch to trigger the relay, then attach the feed to your brake lights...
