Prepping F800GS for a long trip
I'm planning a long trip (up to about 8000 km) this summer (Germany, Finland, Sweden, Norway) and I am wondering what preparations I should be making to my F800GS. The bike has about 30,000 km on the clock, still on its original wheel bearings. Had a new chain and sprockets about 10,000 km ago (runn...

Anyone tried the Spidi X-Tour jacket?
I am looking for a new jacket - my old Rev'it Cayenne has come to the end of its useful life - and I have read good things about the Spidi X-Tour. Anyone on here got one?

Re: Police Biker Video(s)
The Dutch police were lucky they didn't encounter cyclists -- they wouldn't have given way, I suspect; they just plough on oblivious to everything around them, safe in the knowledge that the other person will be held at fault for anything that happens.

Re: Africa Twin vs F800GS
I find it interesting that all the comparison tests pit the Honda against the 1200 beemer and not the 800 - maybe it would not come off quite as well in such a test?

Re: EU. In or out?
I say OUT..until somebody on here or elsewhere can show me a tangible benefit that i get from being in Europe. Mike Here's a list I picked up from a post on Facebook (source: Simon Sweeney, Lecturer in international political economy, University of York): What did the EU ever do for us? Not much, a...

Re: EU. In or out?
The ECHR goes hand in glove with EU membership. We would be able to ditch it and go back to the laws that exist on our statute books and let our own legal system take over. norty The European Court of Human Rights has absolutely nothing to do with the EU. It is a separate institution (set up initia...

Re: EU. In or out?
And another example...same EU rules...but who comes off worse? Italy The Italian government is intervening in the management of Europe's biggest steel plant, in an attempt to reform the beleaguered business. The privately-owned plant, Europe's biggest in terms of output capacity, employs at least 1...

Re: How do you deal with gusting cross wind?
So my advice for dealing with it.... Firstly, relax.... you dont need to go book a hotel, thats the opposite reaction, panic. When did you last hear of somebody crashing a motorbike due to high wind? ... AND RELAX, you're not going to crash, it's just a bit of wind, your bike can handle it. Sent fr...
