Re: EU. In or out?
I've stayed out of this thread and I haven't been reading. I got involved in the Scottish referendum ones as I was more passionate about the future of Scotland, but actually where did all the debate get me? Nowhere, it just cost a lot of time, caused a little frustration, left me posting on here wh...

Re: Road Safety Testing
So they were testing hydraulic disk brakes and ABS on bikes in the early 60's. The test bike was an RE Constellation, I had one at the time and the front brake was so poor there was little chance of locking the front wheel even in the wet.

Re: Different engine modes on bikes
The problem with the R1200GS LC is that you don't get the sportiest "Dynamic" mode without paying extra, but it's the one use 99% of the time as I prefer the sharper power delivery and less intrusive traction control The TE model which seems to be the default option in the UK has the dyna...

Re: Irish Ferries. BE WARNED!!!
They're not all like that. Last year Caledonian Macbrayne succeeded in tipping my bike over on the Arran ferry, luckily the bulkhead stopped it falling all the way but the screen was damaged and also my helmet which was hanging from the bars. The captain came down, took photos, filled out a form for...

Re: Zen and the art......
I read it once and loved it. F*ck all the peace, love and understanding. Take drugs. Ride bikes. Try to pick up women in Mexican beach bars. The two things are not mutually exclusive. Not sure about Mexican women but giving the impression that you are a sensitive soul is a good leg opening ploy in ...

Re: EU. In or out?
[quote="AndyB"R Being out of the EU will stop the US treating us like its little EU puppet. The USA has treated the UK as it's puppet since the Suez crisis when it finally became obvious that the UK no longer had the firepower or political clout to drive events on the world stage and succ...

Of course most of them won't, they'll be doing menial tasks that nobody else wants to do but are far more useful to us That's the problem right there!! The media constantly portrait our young/unskilled workers as lazy and unwilling to do menial jobs. While praising the mass influx of easter...

Re: EU. In or out?
A friend of mine works for a small company that has to employ specilists from abroad because they can't successfully recruit in their sector from within the UK. Yesterday they had confirmation that they could employ an Australian economist, aged 31 years, on £82k per year, based in central London. ...

They also make your bike as wide as a small car. Fine if you're crossing the Sahara but not so useful in UK traffic.Brads wrote:Nice one ! I get my TU adventure soon, my second one.
Hunt about and get the adventure rack and boxes, they fit straight on and are way better than the vario.

Re: EU. In or out?
It seems there are more sensible Bikers than there are Politicians   Measured across a very small part of the population with the voters being probably 90% males aged over 45 it means next to nothing. Try taking a poll of commuters heading from a town in somewhere like Hertfordshire...
