I know some of them there magnets are mighty strong, but i would still be cautious, it all very well going round a smooth race track, but any UK road with the amounnt of pot holes we have, i would still want a lanyard as an extra level of security

The orientation of the rope is important. To pull the bike forward you tie rope around the hub with the rope coming of the bottom of the hub and forward. I would never suggest ditching Rok straps. But when they need replacing or looking for extra straps then definitely consider the wrapties.
Yes I have the thin orange Rok straps great to use with the Kriega type backs.
