Re: Lord protect us from Motorcycle News specials (Adventure Bike of the Year, 19 March 2014)

Let's face it. Most of us Adventure Bike riders are not really going to do much, if any, real off road stuff, nor do we really want to cover distances that require more than one fuel stop a day. (unless you set off empty) I'd guess most of us want comfort and reliability, and something that'll haul ...

Re: A good wine

Made use of that deal last month Phil, and still drinking it. Back in France in May, so hopefully the deals still on.

Re: A good wine

That's the very one Phil. Half way through a box myself with the Misses this evening. Brought a few boxes down to Spain with me. I doubt you can get a better wine for the money.

Re: A good wine

I find anything that costs less than £4 in Asda hits the spot!

You proved my point exactly. See, twice the price in Asda.

A good wine

Any wine snobs or lager louts should not bother reading any further. Now I'm no wine buff but I appreciate a good wine, especially at a good price. I consider myself well travelled, visited the new world vineyards of California, New South Wales and Western Australia, Marlborough New Zealand and Here...

Re: Has anyone used the LD Lines ferry to Spain?

TSB, The Brittany Ferry docks, for want of a better expression, in the middle of the town. (Santander) Well signposted and easy to find. Obviously not sure where LD dock, but would guess it's the same place. No problem with arriving early, parking up in the queue and walking into town for a beer etc...

Won't be long before the Explorer is out selling the GS1200 then. Just need to treble their sales, and more. Well I did my bit.

Re: Has anyone used the LD Lines ferry to Spain?

I guess I must be real lucky. I've crossed the Bay of Biscay some dozen or more times, even in December, and always with Brittany Ferries, and always had a smooth crossing. I've crossed on three different ships over the years, and yes the Pont Aven is best. I'm not a sailor and certainly don't have ...

Re: Lord protect us from Motorcycle News specials (Adventure Bike of the Year, 19 March 2014)

Must agree with 2WT on that one. Does anyone have any idea what the percentage of these big adventure bikes actually see any off-road action? I'm guessing 90 percent, probably more, will spend their entire lives on tarmac. So why manufacture or even test them for that small minority who will probabl...
