Good news indeed. I also will be heading north next summer to the land of the midnight sun. Thanks for the heads up.

Re: how do you clean ya bike

First get a shaft or belt driven bike, so no oily back ends. Try not to go anywhere muddy, and only go out if rain is not forecast. Keep your bike covered up so to prevent build up of dust during winter months or during periods of prolonged rain. If you do find yourself in the position of having to ...

Re: France hotel suggestions please.?

As mentioned above, neigh on every French town and city have 1 or 2 huddles of these cheap motels on their ring roads or edge of their industrial estates. Re: How many own just a bike and no car?

Best part of 20 years ago, my then about to be ex wife took the kids, the house, the car, the bike and all the money. Had to get myself a solicitor to get the bike back. Borrowed cars when I really needed one, but went without 4 wheels for a couple of years. Wouldn't have done it through choice.

Ferries to Corsica

Just looking at booking a ferry from Nice to Corsica in 3 weeks time. Not sure whether to pre book or turn up on spec. Booking no doubt will be cheaper, but non refundable if plans / ETA changes en route. Has anyone out there any recent experience of turning up on spec for that ferry?

Re: Screens - lets discuss

Does anyone know if the Touratech clip on wind defectors designed to clip on to the top of the GS screens, fit any other makes / screens, and in any case are they any good? Quoting myself here, but thanks for all your info and observations. I settled for the Wunderlich Ergo screen extender, which i...

Re: Your favourite Second Bike

So just how many bikes does one man (or woman) need? Apparently there is a very simple formula that will give each and every one of us that exact figure. It is X+1 The X stands for the number of bikes one currently has. I did have a second bike myself once, but the wife's formula of X-1 took care of...
