Re: Longest Day Ride

Reminds me of my first bike trip to Scotland, when 40 years ago today, well last night to be exact, I camped on the headland just east of John O Groats with a bottle of something, and watched as sunset merged into sunrise. Unforgettable, as was the puncture the following day, then the 12 hour ride b...

Re: A photo you took, today

That’s just up the road from me. The Misses would love to see that. Any chance of a map ref? I'm not very good at capturing screen shots , it either where I've put the marker or the cross roads to the left. Nearer to Condicote in reality, I hope that helps ? IMG_6773.jpeg Many thanks Bob.

Re: Mesh armour jackets

Always take my old Harley lightly armoured mesh jacket with me on any trip likely to experience warm temps. Makes riding more pleasurable in the high 20s, and a godsend in the high 30s and above. As qcnr mentioned above, lightweight rain/wind jacket if turns cloudy or happen upon a light shower.

Re: Cruiser riders

Ok, for the first decade of this century I had the big noisy (but very reliable and comfortable) Harley, the long hair, the big beard and fully badged leather safety waistcoat, and yes I too rode it down Santa Monica Blvd. At the time, I thought it was terminal and therefore didn’t even look for a c...

Re: if you got nothing better to do at 22.58 go outside and look up

I did notice a string of satellites a couple of nights back, and without doubt sounds like one of the same. I also counted 6 in a row which appeared to be following in an west to east direction. You comment on them providing internet signals, now I know nothing of these things, but I would assume in...
