Re: My Trip To The States.

Hope to see a pic of the "tree of shame" if its still there--I rode it a couple of times when I worked in the US--but coaches and trucks use it and can be on the wrong side of the road on bends--be careful!

Re: The Billy no mates tour of Europe

I've been to the Dracula Rallye a couple of times just north of you in Turda--and got completely lost going up tracks and ending in logging sites (and the odd Romany village!)--but I was on a 640A at the time. A couple of years ago I went through the middle of Albania with an ADV group--trail bikes ...

Re: Best new sat nav

Used an Old TomTom rider for years--but the contacts were an issue--eventually adapted a car cradle and plugged the connection in at the bottom. I have a cheap garmin Zumi for the van--and on the bike as long as its not hissing down(but can always be put in the special pocket in my 12 quid tankbag o...

Re: Filtering

Try filtering in the US!!--they really hate it(and apparently its illegal). I've even been deliberately squeezed by two trucks when I was filtering through a stationary 8 mile queue. Needless to say I adopted the Brit stiff upper lip and carried on any which way.

Re: thetford green lane routes?

Just got back from that area on a day out with the Cambridge TRF--started at Mildenhall and gradually zig zagged north as far as Swaffham--loads of fast, sandy trails with big whoops--and some are pretty overgrown now--I'm always surprised how many there are compared to further West--you have to go ...

Re: The Honda Africa twin 1000 , warts and all.

Just got back from a Cambridge TRF run around the Thetford forest area. I was testing out my cracked rib--and the modified suspension on the WR250R (lower rate springs, lighter oil, rebuilt rear shock with Race Tech Piston, lowering spacers, Race tech shim stacks and so on)--all good--I finally have...

Re: changing front sprocket in xt660z

I now have a quality impact wrench--but before that I used a 2ft breaker bar--and a bit of decent tube---and cut up a 4"x4" wedge to go between the rear tyre and the "U" of the swinging arm so that you are winding the tyre and the wedge together. A good heave on the extended breaker bar should do it...

I see that there is continued dispute over Armaosborne's rhetoric:

Re: EU. In or out?

I note that the French are at it again--blockading refineries, power stations, burning tyres (again)---so thats the benefit of staying in ?--there is obviously a deal of unrest around the general conditions, economy and so on. I also see that Immigration (net) is at an all time high--and we know tha...

Re: why no other company is copying frunk idea from honda?

Thanks for the PC 800 pic-brought back memories---when I picked it up secondhand it had never seen rain--it was raining--guy was heartbroken! I outran a HD "tractor" near Milwaukee with an indicated 105 on the clock--and being a Brit and used to curves it was one of the fastest bikes on our trips do...
