Re: Another Triumph 800XC test ride...

Then there's the looks. I don't like the XC's headlamp. It's an ugly thing, and whilst the GS is no beauty, it is, IMHO, stylish. BMW... stylish? LOL! :P Joking aside, excellent and unbiased write-up. I took the XC out for a ride last weekend (after riding the Tiger 800 and the F800 GS before Chris...

Re: Triumph 800XC would you buy one ?

I will tell you my view on this ( whether you want or not). I have never really given a monkeys for adventure type bikes, have walked into showrooms seen the bike how high the seat is and walked on never to give that bike a second thought. But a few months ago i read something on the net about how ...

Re: Triumph 800XC would you buy one ?

Triumph staff were hovering and doing a lot of grim faced note taking... At least they do respond to feedback Triumph are pretty good where this is concerned: if you remember, when the 2005 Speed Triple came out, some people complained about the shortness of the pillion seat. When the rev...

Re: Triumph 800XC would you buy one ?

It seems that they make Adventure/off road bikes for giants and sports bikes for midgets. Totally agree! When I had a test ride on the F800 GS, the dealer said that the seat height was actually higher than the 1200! The problem isn't always the height, more the weight and the height combined....

Re: Helmet Choice

OB1, the helmet for you is the one that fits best and comes out tops on comfort. Full face, adventure style or flip is secondary when compared to fit and comfort. I agree with you 100% Alun - the thing is comfort trying it on in a shop is totally different from comfort out on the road after 300 mil...

Re: Helmet Choice

I think that the further east I go, the slower I will travel and the hotter it might get. Because of this, I think a dual sport like the AGV AX-8 DS might be the best option for the trip. Trouble is with something like this - especially when spending £400+ on a lid - I don't think that there are man...

There seem to have been a few of these spamming posts from unintelligibly named people - I think that some people have such tedious lives that they enjoy irritating others with their uselessness! ;)

Re: Helmet Choice

I have actually tried a few flip front helmets on in the shops (and the company that I work for sells them). One of the biggest factors that have put me off getting one (besides the aforementioned safety concerns) is the fact that they weigh so much more than a conventional helmet. A friend who wear...
