Where can I find...

... a small metal top box? I know that Metal Mule, a company whose products I love, have them, but I don't want to pay £500 plus the cost of a base for what is, essentially, a metal box. I need something small and, preferably, low-profile as it will be for the back of my CRF250 Rally. It doesn't hav...

Re: My wish for the Ténéré 700

I like it too, well done! Classic blue/yellow Yamaha colourway - maybe for next year's model. I've ordered a white/red T7 as this is also classic Yamaha colouring. The one bit I'm not too keen on, aesthetically, is the black panel on each side of the tank, which effectively breaks up the whiteness ...

My wish for the Ténéré 700

I was having a bit of a play around with an image of the new Ténéré 700 in Photoshop today. I think that the new colour schemes are a bit flat compared with the original 600, so I came up with this concept.

Re: 4-5 weeks in 2020 - where would you go?

I turned 50 at the end of 2017 and to celebrate, I headed over to Qatar for Round 1 of the 2018 MotoGP. A great place to have a good time but, unfortunately, I didn't have time to ride there and back. I did Nordkapp and the Baltic state loop in 2016 and had a great time: 5,000 miles in two weeks. Ne...

Re: Russia

When I was travelling up to Nordkapp, I had no idea that I'd even crossed the border into Finland until I arrived at the hotel and found out it was an hour later than I thought it was: Finland is in a different time zone from Norway and Sweden. You will need a visa to get from Finland into Russia. I...

Re: If Only Suzuki Would....?

Need to adjust the valves on DR350...you'll need a feeler-gauge and couple of spanners. You just need to take the rocker covers off. All done in 30 minutes while drinking a cup of tea. Same job on the Honda...strip the cam out, and get your micrometer and factory shim set out. Bugger about, put it ...

Re: If Only Suzuki Would....?

I would have thought that the simple answer to why Suzuki hasn't updated the 350 is due to demand: in the big scheme of things, those who want a 350 trail bike are in a very, very small minority. Unlike the last century, bikes are viewed as toys or a hobby that one does at the weekend when the other...

Re: Kriega exceptional service support

I totally agree that Kriega has great customer service. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it here or somewhere else but here goes... A couple of months ago, I was heading up to Norfolk for a weekend of camping and trail riding. Wanting to travel light, I had a dry bag strapped to the rear seat/rack con...

Re: Lady Rambler , going to speak to the Council.

I was riding the Peddars Way in Norfolk a couple of months ago when I was stopped by a woman waving a stick at me. As soon as I saw her, I was already pulling to the side of the trail to stop so that she could pass... not that I was going that quickly to start with. Anyway, she starts by telling me ...
