Re: Campsites near Sort in the Pyrénées

We stayed here last September for nearly 2 weeks whilst exploring the trails around the area.
A very nice site, great food and a bar.
Very clean, and good facilities.
Heated outdoor pool, but didn't get chance to use it.
Think it's around 15 mins north of Sort.

Re: French 80kmh limits

-I will leave out France for a destination this year until common sense returns. I can still leave my house on a bike, hoon about on well-surfaced D-roads for a couple of hours, and return without having seen a single camera, gendarme or anything you could even vaguely describe as traffic. And then...

Re: French 80kmh limits

Not sure they will increase back to 90 km/h Steve. Take the ferry to Santande Steve, Spain has reduced the limits from 100 km/h to 90 km/h, and no where near the amount of speed cameras. Better still get the bike shipped down by Tony Barker (EuroBikeTrans) to Spain and take a cheap flight, think the...

Re: French 80kmh limits

The crazy thing is the 3 lane D road, (the old centre lane for overtaking) 90 km/h on the two lane and 80 km/h on the single lane in the opposite direction!!
Find this a bit illogical if the reason for 80 km/h is safety !!!

Re: French 80kmh limits

Most of the roadside radar have been damaged beyond repair, by the men in "Yellow Vests" in SW France !! Most of the fixed speed cameras still have a warning sign before the radar. Best to ride around the Pyrenees, haven't seen any speed cameras there!! As people above have said, it seems the majori...

Re: you just got to read this.....

Interesting read, how some people seem to take Adventure to the limits..
Very interesting, think I will leave out the mountaineering though.
Thanks for posting the link.

Re: New Zealand...4 wheels good, 2 wheels better?

Great report, it's really a fantastic place NZ.
We have done two trips, first one in a Camper Van and the second by car.
Lots and lots to see.
Enjoying your report and photos, brings back nice memories.
Hope to go back next year as have family living in Queenstown.
Good luck on your travels.

Re: Morocco

Get yourself a copy of Chris Scotts book "Morocco Overland" Some excellant information and routes. A good GPS and a Map is essential. Also Wibo can give you plenty of advice on trails. Lots of useful info on Tim Cullis site. http://www.morocco-knowledgebase.net/forum/forum.php Very hot in the summer...
