Re: First Trip to Ireland - recommendations appreciated

Moorso - Bit of both really. I have a sat nav that I use mainly to keep track of where I am and to have a nose about to see if there are any interesting looking roads nearby. Use paper maps mainly through the day/night before to plan my routes though - wouldn't feel right not having a well creased m...

Mawse - Achill Island now added to the list (thumbs)

Heff - As I'm making it up as I go I may well do, depending on time. Where abouts are you?

Re: First Trip to Ireland - recommendations appreciated

I'll be over for 7 nights/6 days so will probably be aiming to cover a similar distance to your route I'd hazard. (thumbs) Someone at work suggested going as far up the West Coast as Sligo. Of course it'll all depend on how slowly I cover the distance - don't really want to find myself needing to bl...

Re: First Trip to Ireland - recommendations appreciated

Thanks Moorso, that's the sort of route I was eyeing up. (thumbs) Looking through a Rough Guides book Dingle and Doolin were highly recommended so that's a couple of nights ticked off. Usually play it by ear when traveling in Europe with regards places to stay but any recommendations would be handy ...

First Trip to Ireland - recommendations appreciated

Afternoon all As the title suggests I'm off to the Emerald Isle for the first time in a few weeks and apart from riding the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsular I have no other plans. I'm landing in Rosslare solo on a F800GS (avec camping gear)on a Wednesday evening and leaving from there t...

Re: Tramp and oneleg fo France via the trails.

Hi Bob What GR routes were you on? I'm off to France on Monday and have downloaded a few GRs to investigate. Had to turn around on the GR36 near the Lot river last month when it got a bit too tasty for me and my loaded 800GS  Looks like I'll be in the same sort of area you were - Normandy, Loir...

Re: BMW F800R

Hi Had my F800R since 2010 and put over 38000 miles on it mostly touring in the UK and Europe (don't rack up that many on this little rock). It's taken me as far as Morocco, Norway and Croatia without any serious issues and was very happy using it as a tourer. Good fun in the twisty bits but also ve...

Another try

EDIT: haha, useless

Anyone got any suggestions? - I've had enough trouble posting photos before, putting a gpx. file on here looks impossible for my little brain!
