I installed mine with 2mm2 wire and a 25A fuse. I'm no auto electrician and I can't remember where I got this info from but it's worked for me for over 2 years.

Why not get it wrapped. Some people get funny about a bike changing its colour and think it's crash related not cosmetic, a wrap is a permanent but temporary fix that will protect the original panels.
