Re: Women

Chin up fella.you don't need a woman when you have a motorcycle in your life. I got 5 bikes.....Bertha Brutus Wotan Fricka and Brunnhilde. I got a smile 5 miles wide when I discovered Fricka was the hottest thing ever. Hot cams to die for..... 'I need new shoes' always sounds much better when...

Re: brittany ferrys to spain in sept /october...

If anybody feels like doing this option there is also a twice weekly Brittany Ferries Cork to Santander service....from Scotland or north of England a ferry to Belfast or Dublin and then Cork Santander is very feasible. Belfast to Cork or Dublin to Cork is all motorway. I haven't used it but friends...

Re: Officially old?

Well I was doing all nicely.....fairly sedate, Rover 75 diesel automatic for transport which admittedly I have not driven in 2 years and only has 100k miles on it.....due to a few K100 and K1100 bikes being too nice to ride. Then end of last month I picked up a 1983 K100RS, [a sports bike of any kin...

Re: The new fuel symbols for EU countries (from 12th October) - French Version

I have been taking my K bikes to France for a few years. Early 80s fuel injection systems......they run on 5% ethanol ok, 10% ethanol less well, noticeable power drop, noticeable change in fuel consumption. 15% ethanol they hate the stuff, its horrid and sometimes its all you can get in which case a...

Re: pcp balloon payment

Ouch....in 9 years bought 4 bikes....each standing me just €1,000. Would I use PCP? Never. I use my car and bikes for business hitting 25k miles a year and currently its all on 2 wheels, car not used in 2 years...a nice low miles [110k] Rover 75 diesel top spec. Still no PCP. All paid for and all ru...

Re: Crf1000 servicing costs!

Hoots man I bought yet another bike cost me less than that service cost....a 1984 K100Rs.......never spent more than that service cost on these bikes. But as for the Honda, some of them are pig to service......take apart to get at the plugs......take apart to get at valves to check clearances..........

Re: London congestion / emissions charging advice

Thing is.........over 40 years old is exempt too. I have 2 1984 bikes that in 5 years can be freely used. Now has anyone got a nice Kawasaki H2 and nits exempt despite achieving 15 miles per gallon because 50% went out the exhaust unburnt..... Or a nice old Bultaco or Maico or such like. This is a c...

Re: Falling Over

I was watching guys doing one of those when I was in France in June. I love the construction methods, I work in conservation and have a keen interest in these things. Unfortunately we don't get the clay tiles in these parts. When they do get storm damaged they are easy to repair.

Nice one!!

Re: ABR Ireland Rally 2019, 10-12 May 2019 Sign Up

I have been given a lovely present by my kids of a weekend away and it's one of a lifetime. My travel companion will be my youngest daughter who was the organiser.

Sadly it means I will have to miss the ABR weekend as the trip is the same weekend. My friend Will is staying in though.
