Re: Tents.

Coleman Tasman 3 is a great tent, plenty space for self and for gear. Its sold as a three man, its great for two but really great for one. Best thing too is it has a groundsheet in the porch area.

Re: Advice on Car / Bad day :(

I still use a Peugeot 405. Intake is on top of the grille, well above the road. Pays to know where your intake is because I have seen a lot of this happening. But if the Council previously repaired the road then its a defective repair. Your law and ours is same on this. We had a payout on damage las...

Re: Yet more problems

Don't leave it too long, you don't want the chain coming off and getting wrapped around the front sprocket. Could hurt you, body and pocket.

Re: (Budget) Winter Gloves Needed

That is a great offer. I have a pair of those and they are awesome. I reckon that with handlebar muffs they would be good for a 3 hour ride without heated grips. I store my gloves on top of the Aga......always warm!!

Re: Barcelona

Cities the world over are a centre for trouble, theft, damage and so on. Not a reflection on Barcelona, applies almost everywhere.

I would never base myself in a city, go outside and find a small family run place where your bike and gear are safe, a chance to unwind and wake up somewhere nice.

Re: (Budget) Winter Gloves Needed

I use a bog standard pair of glove protectors, very lightweight rainproof mittens, go on over the gloves and don't restrict movement. Bought in Lidl for very small money. I have been using these for the last 4 years. They are meant for rain but they keep the wind off which will freeze your fingertip...

This looks lovely! Peaceful, tranquil and enjoy the stars. Bring some basic cooking gear and a solar shower bag.

Re: French campsites - Prebook or just turn up?

I have camped in France for quite a few years. When staying for a week or two generally it was planned and prebooked. Every site I stayed on had pitches for cyclists and bikes that were not prebooked and people seemed to arrive in at all times of the day, generally people only stayed 1 or 2 nights. ...

Re: corker wknd in Cork.

I will have a look at this, I live in Cork. Its on the main road from Cork to Killarney, great food and atmosphere, excellent parking too and right in the middle of some great roads. Anyone travelling from afar can go Pembroke or Fishguard to Rosslare then take N25 west to Cork and keep heading west...
