Re: Safety and learning to ride again...

Might sound a strange thing to say but staying hydrated is just so important. Much easier on 4 wheels than on 2. On long runs now I don't run tank to tank as its 200 miles, but do about 80 miles, then a few minutes and some water. At the second 160 its a case of petrol and water and foods. I can do ...

Sadly the reality is that you make a claim for theft you lose the excess off the claim and then the no claims goes with it. For that reason some of us riding old bikes don't bother with making the claim. Can be cheaper to take the loss than go for the insurance pay out. But Shirley you could save m...

Thing is.........over 40 years old is exempt too. I have 2 1984 bikes that in 5 years can be freely used.
Will it stay at 40 years or will it become 41 then 42 then 43 and so on, scrolling on.

You never know with this mayor!
I don't really mind....I live far from such an environment.

Folks Thanks for all your comments and positive feedback. We must be doing something right ;) It wouldn't happen without support from you guys by taking the time out of your schedule to make it all work :) Until next year I have only been once but really enjoyed it. Looking at my own experience and...

Some lovely photos there.. I had to miss it .my youngest daughter took me to Vienna for the weekend and it was an amazing weekend of music and art galleries. She got her hands on some VIP tickets for two classical concerts that were to die for.

But I will make it for next year!!

Re: Flip-up helmet advice...

I love the flip up and now would not use anything else. Nolan GRex 9.1 is my current one but as it's now coming to 4 years I am looking at replacement and its proving tricky so will probably get another one. Plus points are integral tinted sun visor, easy to remove visor to clean it, easy to fit Blu...

Re: AVIVA Insurance

I managed on quite a few occasions to do exactly that with the car insurance.

Renewal notice comes in post so I go looking on their website to see how their on line pricing for a new customer compares.......a lot of the time its cheaper.

Re: Did you buy your bike new or used? Why?

I don't spend more than €1,000 on a bike...have 4 of them........all running nicely. Most recent one just came a few weeks ago. Use bike and a standard list of things to do when I get them usually leaves me with a very reliable ride. Thing about that is no depreciation. All same bikes in different s...
