Re: EU. In or out?

`Sensible`being not wanting to be dictated to by foreigners but wanting our own laws and borders and economy. Those vociferous remoaners are the ones that fear they will be losing a personal advantage , from living abroad or from financially benefiting from the eu .. which is understandable but may...

Re: EU. In or out?

quote from the quote .. with highlights for the hard of hearing Commissioners are not directly elected by the peoples of Europe . Correct, they are selected by the elected officials of each member state - we elected the person that selected the person that sits on the commission that sets direction...

Re: EU. In or out?

To conclude, given that the process was rigorously regulated with no voting irregularities or apparent breaches of funding or spending rules. ., the referendum outcome should be seen for what it is: a narrow but clear constitutional decision of the highest significance. It would be a democratic tra...

Re: EU. In or out?

The Irish voted no to the Lisbon treaty, amendments were made to the treaty and the resulting treaty was voted for by 67.1%. Is that how negotiations work? Plus this is not the first vote on EU membership. The country voted in 1975 (67%) to join, no one seems bothered about the democratic rights of ...
