Re: How far from Santander?

Thanks. We went to Potes and Riano in June this year, so they could both be do'able 8-) . We've already booked the boat so it's got to be Santander. I think my doubt is whether 120 miles is a realistic mileage...once we've got off the boat, ridden, fannied around, and checked in etc. or do people re...

How far from Santander?

Our boat docks at 5pm in Santander, we'll probably be out of the port at 6pm, and it will be dark by 10pm (in June)...my question is, how far from Santander is it reasonable to aim for on that first night? I'm thinking about 120 miles...but we've only ever done the boat journey BACK to the UK (sever...

Re: not a proper adventure bike

I've went round the Bardenas on my old Fazer 1000...does that count as an 'adventure'? Seriously, any trip (preferably a long one) on any bike, regardless of whether it's on the dirt or the tarmac, is an adventure in my opinion 8-) .

Re: Yamaha Tenere 700 - Deliveries?

What do they ride like? Similar to a Tenere 660 or completely different? Not the engine, which I know is a peach, but in terms of top heavy weight etc.

Re: Self Guide or Tour Group

Three of us did a five day group tour of the Italian Dolomites in 2015. We met up with another 10 riders at the eurotunnel and we had two guides, so there were 15 bikes in total. We rode through and saw scenery that we would probably never have seen on our own. One thing that we hadn’t anticipated w...

Re: France, The Picos, and North West Spain

For easy navigation of the relatively small "De Fuentas Carriones" area, just draw a triangle between "Guardo" in the south west, "Cervera de Pisuega" in the south east, and "Potes" in the north. All of it is simply superb, fast riding terrain with spectacular views 8-) . Well worth a few hours visi...

France, The Picos, and North West Spain

Hi Guys. Thank for all the information earlier in the year about routes down to North West Spain and The Picos. I just got back from a fantastic 10 day trip. We did 3,100 miles, completely shagged a brand new set of tyres, and got 1 speeding fine but it was absolutely awesome. We stayed off main roa...

Route advice required - San Sebastián to Calais

It looks like we might end up riding home from Northern Spain due to the Brittany Ferries boat issue  . If so, we need a route from San Sebastián up through France to Calais. We’ve got 3.5 days to do it, so 3 overnight stops before Calais. We want to stay off the motorways and avoid coming up t...
