Re: Long weekend in Wales & the ABR Festival

We rolled into Ragley Hall around 2.30pm, an impressive entrance, we were quickly guided to the reception area where we got our ticket for our welcome pack, sticker for the bike and a wristband -all very professional and polite staff, a nice touch was the offer of a free bottle of water- very welcom...

Re: Long weekend in Wales & the ABR Festival

Soon the rest of the party were up and kit packed away, loaded on the bikes, then back down to the pub for our breakfasts - full Welsh all round & very tasty it was too. 20190712_082723.jpg IMG-20190715-WA0032.jpg After breakfast, it was back on the road. Re: Long weekend in Wales & the ABR Festival

Paul - you are spot on, fantastic roads all around here and the campsite could not be better placed to use as a base to explore them, so. Herman - good call. I had also made a mental note of Alun telling us about Lake Vyrnwy when he was over at the ABR Rally in Northern Ireland - more of that later....

So Thursday 11th July saw six of us leave N.Ireland for the ABR Festival via Wales. A quick run down the motorway with Heff taking the lead and through the tunnel before Dublin and immediate left into the port after the toll booth. - or so we thought , instead Heff decided to go on past towards Dubl...

Re: France for D-Day 75th Anniversary

Good to hear from you Moorso!

Glad you had a great trip. Yes a very interesting area - dripping in reminders of the sacrifices made by so many. And all not far from the ferry port at Cherbourg.

Re: Route advice required - San Sebastián to Calais

Head towards The Ardennes in Belgium and spend a couple of days there ? We passed through there last year and thought it would be a nice area to spend a bit more time in. Pretty handy to Calais as well.
