Re: Quick release fuel line connecters for EFI

You can buy them from a BMW dealer. But from BMW, they're expensive. I wouldn't risk the cheap stuff on ebay. They're generally not pressure rated or tested even if they 'seem' to hold out for a while. The BMW ones off some models are even full stainless. Very nice. BMW don't make them, they're made...

Re: Any bike savvy inmates around Liverpool?

I'm a bike mechanic/MOT tester and ABR on the Wirral.

I can do this for you but would have to ask for my time and travel. I'm guessing it will take two hours out of my workshop time. PM me...

For Sale: Genuine BMW 75W/90 Fully Synthetic Gearbox- Bevel gear oil - HALF PRICE

I've got a surplus supply that I need to clear. I've now got a source by the barrel. If you service your own BMW 1200 Boxer then you will need 75W/90 Fully synthetic Gear oil. It's about £40 a litre (from BMW) which is enough for a gear box (700-750ml) and Rear wheel drive (180ml). Even cheaper Cast...

Re: Electric draw?

You set your multimetre to ammeter mode (you usually have to move one of the lead plugs). It's safer to disconnect the earth from the battery and connect one multimetre to the negative on the battery and then the other lead to the negative terminal for the wiring loom. The mulitmeter is now 'in seri...

Re: Its done, ive switched to the dark side

I work for a BMW dealership as a Technician a lot of the time. My best tip would be getting a BMW warranty. It's not that expensive and it covers EVERYTHING. When a BMW goes wrong it goes VERY wrong and it gets VERY expensive. I would also ACF50 the whole bike. The paint on them is embarrassingly ba...

Mul001 said it all... I regret posting it at all now. I forgot how bad this forum was for childish squabble and overinflated egos. It's a bloody forum. Get out and enjoy the sunshine. All I did was try and sell my bike. Asking price, values and final selling prices are between seller and buyer. Half...

Re: Honda XR650L - For Sale in U.K - VERY rare bike

Morning Ted, did you consider fitting a kickstart to the Nx engine? And an oil cooler? Kick start no... Its not needed. The starters are solid on these. Oil cooler could be a plan if I was doing a lot of hot desert stuff. I've jetted it to run cooler and fitted a colder plug too.. These are very ea...

Re: Honda XR650L - For Sale in U.K - VERY rare bike

Thank you so much for you opinion. I'll treasure it. It's aimed at a small, specialist market. Those who travel globally off road. Probably not found on ABR to be honest. In that case you'll sell it via your HUBB advert no doubt I remember when you bought it in your van, no doubt as a mechanic it i...
