Re: NC75O X

I test-rode a 700 (or possibly a 750 ) X a couple of years ago, and over the 90 minutes or so decided I didn't like it much, mainly because of the low rev limit, and it seemed too tame after the Transalp. I bought instead a 650 VStrom, which is great. Roll on to last week ...... the VStrom went in f...

Re: Will electric vehicles become the 'dieselgate' of 2050?

I just get more cynical as I age.... I'm becoming the archetypal grumpy old man! Anyway ......... I don't profess to know the answers but I'm certain that electric vehicles, at least as presently realised, won't suit me. I'm retired so don't commute, don't ride/drive everyday, but when I do I tend t...

Re: hot grips wire?

My throttle-side grip seemed cold a little while back ... I've new pair of grips in the garage so tried to pluck up the enthusiasm to change them. After a week or so, though, I thought I'd check the wiring - sure enough, the connector to the RH grip had become disconnected. Soon put right, and full ...

Re: For whom the bridge tolls?

Anything that gets rid of that horrible melee at the "toll plaza" is OK by me .......... and not having to pay £5.60 to get home is always good, too. High time for the "powers that be" to turn their gaze onto the Newport bottleneck (Brynglas tunnels). I'm old enough to remember the first bridge open...

Re: KTM 790R Adventure price

Blimey .... I thought the 790 was the "starter", priced to sell!
The parallel twin was, allegedly, cheaper to produce than the "proper" V-twin

Re: Winter Gloves

I've used a pair of Weise winter gloves for a couple of years, and I'm happy with them, warm and dry. I can't find the exact model, but they're very much like the Weise Bergen (but with a short w/proof zip instead of the cuff velcro).

Re: NEC Bike show today

I'm off to the show tomorrow, so might conceivably change my mind when I see it in the flesh, but..... also from Husqvarna, I offer the Svartpilen, even uglier than its ugly sister the Vitpilen. https://www.google.co.uk/search?biw=1366&bih=626&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=Cmn0W93_HeuTgAbduY3QDg&q=husqvarna+svar...

Re: Who's putting £500 down

'm not really a fan of the larger "modern" Nortons either, but I did pull up alongside one earlier today and, apart from the motor being a sort of oversize, 120% scale model of the old 750 Atlas engine, it didn't look too bad. And, unlike a lot of these very expensive, limited-production machines, i...
