Re: KTM 790R Adventure price

Blimey .... I thought the 790 was the "starter", priced to sell!
The parallel twin was, allegedly, cheaper to produce than the "proper" V-twin

Re: Winter Gloves

I've used a pair of Weise winter gloves for a couple of years, and I'm happy with them, warm and dry. I can't find the exact model, but they're very much like the Weise Bergen (but with a short w/proof zip instead of the cuff velcro).

Re: NEC Bike show today

I'm off to the show tomorrow, so might conceivably change my mind when I see it in the flesh, but..... also from Husqvarna, I offer the Svartpilen, even uglier than its ugly sister the Vitpilen. https://www.google.co.uk/search?biw=1366&bih=626&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=Cmn0W93_HeuTgAbduY3QDg&q=husqvarna+svar...

Re: Who's putting £500 down

'm not really a fan of the larger "modern" Nortons either, but I did pull up alongside one earlier today and, apart from the motor being a sort of oversize, 120% scale model of the old 750 Atlas engine, it didn't look too bad. And, unlike a lot of these very expensive, limited-production machines, i...

Doesn't do it for me, either.

Re: One of the locals

Talking of plucking ................ We have a few unusual birds visiting our suburban garden, and once in a while this sparrowhawk comes along for a brief "recce". However, I didn't realise how ambitious she was until yesterday: she caught this pigeon, which was, I suspect, bigger and heavier than ...

Re: RE Interceptor price announced

I like it!.... always had a bit of a soft spot for the Bullets, and the Enfield twins. One of the big twins in a nickel-plated Metisse frame - my idea of a "real" motorbike (if I can't have a Black Shadow/Lightning ;) ). So the new beastie's certainly something to consider - I know where I'll be hea...

Re: Riders Cardiff Closing

I'm firmly in the old "grey beard" gang, and yes, we do seem to form the majority at various biker haunts....... maybe it's because we like tea and all-day breakfasts! ;) I'm a bit puzzled about Riders Cardiff... as i recall it was originally BMW and HD, with Ducati arriving later and the HD stock l...

Re: Lake District proposed TRO.

Yes, I saw the "anti" one too! That sort of nonsense has been peddled by the "Anti" brigade for years, and here in South Wales we've lost quite a few routes ... so I've signed the petition to keep the lanes open. (Don't use the bike "off-(tarmac)road" nowadays, but did a fair bit of Land Rover green...
