Re: Garmin Montana Thread

I've not been that impressed with the GB OS discover to be honest, spoke to Garmin and they said its just a scanned image, not even close to a Memory map image, but the City Nav is good, are you using Basecamp, a lot easier to plan and view routes than the screen on the Montana? Yes I agree, its no...

Re: Garmin Montana Thread

This should be good. Still learning how to use mine.

One thing I find frustrating is that after putting in a route there is no option to over view the route other than trying to zoom out, which takes forever.

Re: 500kg weight limit on lanes ?

Walkers and the weather do cause erosion but over a longer period of time. There are idiots in all groups and most of the idiots on bikes you won't stop anyway as they are riding illegally so ride where they want. The 4x4's are fully legal and it's a deliberate act to cause the damage and get stuck....

Re: 500kg weight limit on lanes ?

It appears that some 4x4 drivers feel the need to get themselves stuck or dug in for the challenge of getting out. Driving along with 2 wheels in the farmers field digging a nice trench spinning up the wheels. I think there is a time and place for this and our byways etc is not it. Save this for the...

Re: Wanted - KTM 690 Enduro R

Big money to do the replacement shock on the back with longer rod. Also expensive with the forks. If he got a husky 630 he could have a bespoke wilbers shock and say 52 mil showa forks on the front for less than 5 grand total for an 11 plate bike with very low mileage. Also E version not as desirab...

Re: Wanted - KTM 690 Enduro R

Get an E model. The way you ride you would need to do something with the suspension, especially the front. Put exc front forks on and get the rear made taller to match and you have a better bike than an R. I think the exc forks are 2 inches taller than the E forks. Get the seat re done to add a bit ...

Re: Small vs Large tent

Sometimes the smaller tents condensate more due to less airflow so anything crammed into the small tent gets wet.

Personally I prefer a bigger tent so I can walk in and out and have some storage room.

Very personal choice!

Re: ABR Peak District Rally Buxton 9th - 11th November 2012

It was nice to put some faces to names, although with so many I've managed to forget them now!

Top weekend and the weather smiled on us for the Saturday.

BIG THANKS to all the organisers and run leaders.
