Re: Route/POI advice for a E England trip please.

My dad used to fly lancasters during the war, so interested to go on one of those taxi rides.

Re: Nitron adventure rear shock..... Thoughts?

Fitted a Nitron shock P/n NTBKH49S to my CBF1000 when the Honda budget shock started to give up the ghost. No fitting problems and seems to be good quality, certainly better that the Honda one fitted from new. It performs well, but remember that I am an old guy who does not tear around the place scr...

Re: Post Coronovirus, Will we be Welcome as Travellers?

I supposee being able to get out on the bikes is at least a month away. Even then its going to be dodgy, in the UK, the goverment seems to be following the "herd " policy, which means that there will still be virus carriers out there, so we have to use masks. Some countries have adopted the "track a...

CBF1000 fairing Repair

I suppose that the CBF1000 is a bit of a budget bike as it was Honda's answer to the Bandit.
The bike is a 2006 model and some insurance companies seem to think that makes it a classic.
Anyway two of the nearside fixing points failed, repair file attached.

Re: My tdm running bad.

I wonder what that wire was supposed to do?
Could be a Lambda sensor input or similar.

Re: Post Coronovirus, Will we be Welcome as Travellers?

As regards Brexit, I voted to stay in the EU, but one of my knowledgeable friends said that the EU had been transferring work from the UK to places like Spain, to try and bring all the EU member countries up to the same level of prosperity and that is why so many people voted to leave. Never checked...

Re: My tdm running bad.

Was thinking that it could be an air around the caburator area (rubbers getting hard), maybe trying spraying with some soapy water or similar, you might be lucky.

Re: Rider or Multibike Policies?

I have a multi bike policy with Bennets for the CBF1000, XT1200Z and XT660Z.
From memory it costs about £300/year.

Re: My tdm running bad.

Those TDM's were built to last forever. Well its either carburation or ignition. Maybe need to put the jets through the ultrasonic cleaner if you believe that the Carbs are properly balanced. Not sure what the electronic ignition is like in terms of reliability on those models. If all else fails, yo...

Re: Garmin Rugged powered mount with 12v cigar plug

Just remember that the Garmin runs off 5 volts.
The 12 volt cigar plug has 12 volt to 5 volt converter in it which is usually a cheap transistor with a zener and a few resistors.
You do not want to permanently connect the cigar plug to the battery as you will reduce the life of the converter.
