Re: Blocked Oil Screen.

My Yamaha 660z uses oil in the frame system, I think that it is probably worth a closer look for any hidden filters.

Re: Blocked Oil Screen.

Thats absolutely horrendous.
The oil screen will be in line immediately after the oil pump, so it is likely the oil pressure would have been down quite a bit.
Hope that you have got away with it, I would check the oil screen again after doing a few ride outs.

Re: Petrol: supermarket vs shell etc

I use BP Ulitimate in the bikes and have the BP card, never any problem. I can see this sort of thing getting worse in the future as they try to phase out petrol and force us use battery powered cars, which have a very limited life. Have you tried to but a mobile lately with a replaceable battery, i...

Another scam

Got a text pretending to be from EE giving me a phone number and hyperlink so that I could update my billing details.
Quite convincing, but being an old guy, I use pay as you go.
Looks like the EE server has been hacked, as I rarely give out my mobile number and usually use the land line number.

Re: What is an adventure ?

Its all about the journey and the people you meet.
It does not have to be some off shore country, it can be anywhere, but you have to take your time, so you can interact with the people you meet on the way.
I do not think that Nick Sanders will agree with this.

Re: Dew Point In Simple Terms

I remember when I used to go to the States on business and drive cars all over the place, that there were warning signs at bridges "remember bridges freeze first".

Re: Hard shoulder penality

Remember Sergent Dixon was a fictional character, another mis information program run by the BBC to presumably increase confidence in the police force. I am a real oldie who was riding motorcycles in the 1960's, in those days we used to get pulled over by the police quite frequently, the police neve...

Re: Hard shoulder penality

There seems to be pressure on the police to book people, maybe they feel that this proves they are doing their job and avoids more cuts in the numbers. Or it just becomes some sort of accepted behavoir, robot police, what would the Peel man say, as the police are supposed to be ordinary people taken...

Re: Hard shoulder penality

I consider that I make a mistake, posted the £100 cheque and have moved, life is too short. It seems to me its not about the risk but whether you broke some rule, supported by those guys that were finded for doing 1 or 2 MPH over the speed limit on a perfectly clear motorway. I think in my case the ...
