Re: Marvelous bit of unbiased reporting

Oddly, the half a dozen times I’ve ridden it, always part of a group, it’s the cyclists who have been the morons. A couple of times the ramblers have even held the gates open for us. We do get ignored but the amusing one is the family group where the kids smile and wave, dad has a big grin and looks...

Re: Yamaha Tenere 700 - Deliveries?

I was at motts motocycles in basingstoke 2 weeks ago and 2 owners where collecting their bikes, one black other blue.... So they are rolling out.. Definitely out there A lot of mixed messages as it's gonna be a best seller Selling them is one thing, getting your hands on one seems more problematic....

Re: North America, First and Second.

Not sure if you’re heading to Niagara but, having walked across to the American side today, my god it was worth the knackered feet. A totally different perspective and the Cave of the Winds drenching was superb. Excellent State Park to walk around and great views of the falls.

Re: North America, First and Second.

Don’t go near Toronto! We drove out of the airport car rental lot in our massive SUV (we booked a dinky one) at 4.00pm yesterday and the traffic to Niagara was M25 stop start 60% of the way and very busy with bigger than I remembered trucks thundering along at car speeds. One good bit was the multi ...

Re: SURVEY

I take it that this lot are NOT the National Parks but a friends bunch with their own (dodgy) agenda. The South Downs NP work well with Sussex TRF and we get total exemption from winter TROs unless it’s following repairs, which is fair enough. They have really clamped down on 4x4 use in winter thoug...

Re: North America, First and Second.

Ah....the memories again. Thanks for all the updates. As ever, I think a drone or helicopter flight are the only ways to give a sense of such a huge space it is. We walked to Peyto Lake (the emerald lake) between Jasper and Lake Louise on the third day of our 18 day holiday, quite a few years ago no...

Re: North America, First and Second.

In California we walked across dunes an hour each way to not see any elephant seals.
Two days later we saw dozens on the beach next to the car park near Hearst Castle.

Edit. Finally remembered how to spell Hearst.

Re: RST Adventure 2 waterproof boots

I was going to suggest a trip up to Get Geared at Leatherhead as you’re not so far away.....but their website seems to be half non functional. Are they still open for business? Thanks, I didn’t know they had a shop! Also got Helmet City near Croydon. With my weird feet, there is no point in buying ...
