Re: 30 Days to cross the USA

Is it just me or are those board track racers the loveliest looking bikes?
Only what is needed is there.

Re: Navmii

Thanks for the info.
Most seem free now but some aren’t offline by the looks of their app site.

Navmii

Has anyone used Navmii as a free gps only (no data use) navigation system on an iphone? Looks better than setting up Google Maps offline every few days. Initially we are looking at Ontario and Quebec provinces for three weeks next month....by car, not bike. Even if I do load it, there is still the G...

Re: New Triumph Tiger 887 XC

Is it me or does it look very lean and trim.
Finally keeping bike weights down? Would be a good move.

Re: North America, First and Second.

I guess you saw all the 100lb + Halibut hanging up after landing.
We really liked Homer.

Looks like you’ll be in NS before we arrive in Ontario at the beginning of September.
Enjoy the trek across.

Re: North America, First and Second.

The first skunk we saw was well and truly flat in the middle of the road in Sion NP.

There are loads of moose inside and just outside Denali National Park. We saw a Grizzly with four cubs about 30 yards away, from the relative safety of the minibus on our Park tour.

Re: Dash cameras etc illegal in certain countrys abroad

I’m more likely to forget my phone than take it with me. I use the Apple stuff for family messaging. I have a PAYG and spend all of £1 a month on calls or texts. I do always take the phone when on the bike as it has a contact comfort factor. However, we love our ipads. Much easier than my old comput...

Re: North America, First and Second.

Yes to Denali, Valdez and Homer. IMHO well worth the visits. Denali NP is good. You can do a bus trip for the day. A bit hot, rough and dusty...we did a minibus tour. Valdez is ‘just a town’ but the history of earthquakes, oil, oil disaster are fascinating and a great boat trip (the full Stan Steven...

Re: Riders of Green Lanes pre 1980.

Is there not a way of going over the Park’s heads to object to this systematic destruction of the fully legal ‘byway’ system. This must be beyond their reasonable powers.....or have they been given carte blanche? Quite the opposite here in Yorkshire nowadays We have a man on the Council whose job i...

Re: trf

Isn’t it 4x4 based now, with little or no relevance to bikes? Hence the never ending wait for the TRFs own system. Luckily we can do all our Sussex lanes in a day anyway so not a big issue but no good for snyone visiting. We have a lot of bike excepted TROs that are only really found on the County H...
