Re: Bike won’t start
Given that the bike is only sat there idling I would be surprised if it's a mixture problem. In my experience this tends to create a hot cylinder and spark plug. It sounds more like Richard says, either bad ignition timing - but you'd notice other things like difficult starting (now you've got the e...

Re: hot grips wire?
Bear in mind you probably grip the throttle more than the left grip and that can make it feel warmer. Yep. It doesn't take much for the grip to loose it's heat, just operating the clutch is enough to let air move around your hand and cool everything down. You could wear a thicker glove on your left...

Re: Bike won’t start
If the bike "thinks" it's been put in gear (ie the neutral light goes out) while it's on the stand then it will cut the engine off. I would take the bike off the stand (sit on it and fold the stand away or put it on the centre stand if you have one) and see if that makes any difference when the neut...

Re: EU. In or out?
... are we better of staying in, and strongly influencing a less than perfect EU or going it alone against US, China and the other world powers? We're not going to be against China. China is waiting in the wings for us to leave the EU, then it's going to put it's arm round our shoulders and offer t...

Re: Bike won’t start
Definitely sounds like a loose connection rattling loose when the bike is on.

Re: 2019... Whats everyone up too.
Motorcycle commuting, especially in heavy traffic is definitely one way of putting you off bikes. I sometimes have to remind myself that motorcycles at any other time are ace. On the motorcycle this year it's either a wander down to Rome or over to Romania (I fancy a look round Transylvania). Either...

Re: Are 'friends' electric?
...and, 3 years on...I've decided against converting my old 'Scott' MTB to electric using a Bafang crank drive, mainly because the geometry of current MTBs is so much better than 10 year old models rather than anything else. I'm going to get a Bosch Performance Line CX motor in a hardtail 29' er. T...

Re: I like this guy
Excellent, very funny and informative. I would also like to add that motorists get selective hearing as well. If they hear a horn sound they'll be selectively deaf to it unless it is very persistent by which time you're toast. I have a loud horn on my bike and I still get cut up by drivers while I'm...

Re: Aprilia Pegaso 660 opinions please
I had one for four years, went all round Europe and Scandinavia (+30,000 miles in all) and loved the bike despite it's "quirks". As someone else said, it just has something about it. I would happily have another. The quirk that really irked me was that it would not run in very damp (drizzly) conditi...
