Re: Bizarre situation with Bennetts!

I was told, when I queried the case of cleaning the bike, that reasonable circumstances would be taken into account. So leaving it answer the phone, fill your bucket with water, or open the garage door etc would be acceptable but leaving it all day (because you've gone out or something) would not. T...

Re: A photo you took, today

I seem to remember someone on the forum posted a photo of a worn out sprocket. This is my effort  . The chain seemed fine it was only when I checked the drive sprocket that I became a bit alarmed. And I only checked that because I was beginning to think it really was getting rather long in the...

Re: Interesting experience at Roy Pidcocks Derbyshire today.

That's really shocking from a "premium" bike dealer. I know my local dealer did it as part of the 6000 mile service. As someone already said, the 600 mile service is a shakedown service anyway. I'm surprised the chain needed adjusting after only 600 miles, I don't know if this is normal or not but i...

Re: ...the puncture cover up!

Anybody ever use the latex type sealant that's used on tubeless mountain bikes, like Stans?

It does a great job on mountain bikes (others are available too) but I wonder if it's man enough for trail riding...

Re: MIPS helmet

I suspect MIPs in a motorcycle helmet is a bit of a gimmick as unlike in cycle helmets, your head is held much more firmly in place rendering the MIPs idea a little redundant. But maybe I'm wrong? I think I would agree. My understanding is the MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) is th...

Re: car behaviour when joining a main carriageway

--but it does require that they look in their mirrors and adjust their speed to slot into a gap(which to be honest most people don't leave anyway!)-- AND LOOK OVER THEIR SHOULDERS FFS :x :x I would say about twice a week I have either a near miss or get nerfed by cars joining from slip roads (and p...
