Re: Trail Punctures - what to do???
I'm not sure I will have time to practice before the trip, so I am thinking: Take an 8 oz bottle of Slime, valve core removal tool and the minipump. If I get a puncture, add the Slime then inflate + spin the wheel. Assuming it works, inflate to normal PSI (and worry for the rest of the trip :-)) If ...

Trail Punctures - what to do???
Heading out for a 3 day Billy-no-mates tour soon and I'm a bit concerned about what happens if I get a flat in the middle of nowhere. Bike KLX250S Tyres Dunlop D605 with tubes. I have a can of Holts Tyreweld, but does it work on tubes? I will take a mini pump, but of course that's only useful if the...

East to West, yes, piece of cake. West to East, well that has you climbing out of the old quarry, on washed out rocks - so a bit more challenging. There is also a short Lane around Little Mell Fell, and Latrig/Threlkeld. You can find them all here --> http://www.cumbria.gov.uk/roads-transport/publi...

Re: Scary Bike Trail
I think there is some distortion with wide angle lenses that makes this stuff look worse than it really is, that said, you wouldn't catch me doing that or this:

Re: what have you done to your the bike today??
Dropped and scraped my bike for the 1st time
Wouldn't mind, but I did manage to ride quite a lot of technical trails and dropped the damn thing practicing trail skills on a tuft of grass!

Re: Help with Routes from Lakes to N Yorks - please
Hmmm, sounds rather challenging, even on my KLX250.
At least the Old Coach Road looks easy, so I will include that.
There seem to be a few lanes around Skelwith Bridge, youtube vids indicate these are rideable.
Any other suggestions???

Re: Seeking Modest Adventures
I use my weight to advantage on the MTB and disadvantage (skills, lack of) on the Yamaha. With powerful brakes on both MTB's, I only need 1 finger for absolute control but I struggle the same with the clutch hand on the Yamaha. I think I would find myself in way more trouble than I do, but MTB'ing ...

Help with Routes from Lakes to N Yorks - please
I am planning a 3 day ride: 1) Leeds to St Bees via Salter Fell, staying at Borrowdale YHA 2) Borrowdale to East Coast taking in Bainbridge Roman Road and the lovely track just SE of Aysgarth + ??? (it's remarkably diffult to link up a route because all the tracks seem to run north - south). 3) Back...
