Re: Suzuki freewind XF650 Any good??????

Very underrated bike, the XF650. I bought mine to compliment a ZZR1400 I had and certainly didn't expect to be wowed by it. Simple single air cooled carb'd engine that keeps going on and on. Returns up to 75 mpg treated very gently down to 60 mpg if thrashed. Very smooth between 50 - 80 mph and hand...

Re: I'll ride slower when they stop claiming for porno

I live in Buxton so know exactly where you're coming from regarding silly speed limits in Derbyshire & surrounding areas. Don't mind if it really is for safety but, let's face it, it's more for easy revenue. 50 mph speed limits on most of the roads around here are a total joke. No wonder people ...

Re: Ireland & The Ring of Kerry

You can check out my short trip here, done a few weeks ago. Found that the Ring of Beara was amazing and most of the photos in my post are of that area. Whichever way, the SW area of Ireland is amazing, you'll enjoy it! (thumbs)

Re: Death of the Dual Sport?

Love those DR's, Sarge! (thumbs) Real shame about the supposed death of these great dual sport machines. Been having a lot of fun with my XF650 recently, I do love the character of a big thumper. My recent trip to Ireland, she did 70 - 75 mpg and never missed a beat. Despite her bias for the tarmac,...

Irish Test Tour

Came back from a quickie Irish test tour the other week and thought some basic info might help others here who are considering the same. Basically, I wanted to have a look-see for possible further tours in the ROI. A couple of mates came along too so we had my XF650 Freewind, a Vstrom 650 and a Yam ...

Re: Slow, easy trails in the peaks mid week evenings.

Fantastic evening out, you guys certainly know your trails around Matlock and surrounding areas! Little XT had a bit of a work out and I've emptied the water out of my boots now so all good. Many thanks and hopefully this could be a regular meet?
