Hi mate, as Alan said i have had both bikes, and we did the Stella in the last issue of the magazine. The F800 is better off road than the Gs1200 so i dont agree with the feedback you have been given, essentially if the trail your riding is rough, involves steep gradients, hairpins etc then the F800...

i think you will find that in the UK it is illegal to transport exposed fuel containers on the back of a road vehicle , however it is never enforced and i have been gerry canned up for years without hassle or problems. make sure you can lock the caps to avoid contamination or vandals if your going i...

I have four modified brackets that were based upon touratech plastic bottle mounts, you just bend the top lip upwards until flat and then they are fine.see below piccy

Had a TomTom and the mount was rubbish as the contact points kept jumping apart between the unit and mount , then i'd get a low battery and the unit would just shut down without much warning, changed to a Zumo 550, brilliant mount, locks on etc, but occasionally it will lock up and the battery needs...
