Re: EU. In or out?

why is the Euro valued at less than the £ even though we hit a 30 plus year slump ? i'm not an expert buuut i think its the pound that is at a 30 low against the dollar . and both the euro and pound are both being pulled about by speculators ..(the roller coaster) the whole thing is being driven by...

Re: Calais

^...yes that is the law but other EU countries have chosen to ignore it hence creating the problem at Calais. Let's be honest, no one has an issue with genuine asylum seekers but the majority at Calais are economic migrants. The French should and could repatriate them to the original EU country tha...

Re: Cooling vest - anyone have one ?

I got a Bilt vest when in the states, it cost about 30 dollars and it does work. The trick is to only dunk it for a few seconds otherwise it takes on too much water and you get a wet crutch which isn't unpleasant when it's 100F but as has been said can be embarrassing when you stop for a coffee.

Scotland cannot go for another independence vote. The finances didnt add up last time, and they sure as hell dont add up this time. Sturgeon wants the cake and to eat it. She wants the money from England but the independence. Scotland could not join the eu, it has no money and would not meet the cr...

Re: EU. In or out?

A view from Scotland image_2016-07-16-2.jpeg The voters of the UK were 52% in favour of leaving Europe. The droning on of this one track woman will not change that. True, 52% of those who voted opted to leave the EU but unfortunately unless we have an early general election that is the end of their...

Re: EU. In or out?

ps I am the only one who can see the irony of making one of the chief architects of Brexit the new foreign secretary. Still I expect he will get on well with Donald Trump. Foreign sec is largely a PR job and Boris will be good at that. Also putting one or two prominent brexiteers in the front line ...

Re: Anyone rode a motorbike without a helmet?

I started riding in 1965 and wore a helmet most of the time because it was more comfortable, especially if it was cold or wet. These days I wear an open face in the summer and a flip up full face in the winter. Personally I think the pleasures of riding without a helmet are overstated except when it'...

Re: EU. In or out?

Yes, I think he said precisely that. I recall he also pointed out that we already have that situation with a number of non EU countries including the USA.

Re: brexit and your right to be proud of your country

It's all going wrong the FTSE is higher than it was before Brexit !! pound up against the $ and the euro !!! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-36660133 Phew! That's a relief, we can all go to bed confident that the worst is over and we can look forward to an age of unparalleled freedom and prosper...
