Re: Returning rider can it be done?
I'm 58 and found the CB500X cheap enough to insure at less than £150 though I do have some no claims discount on the policy, good luck with whatever you decide to buy.

Re: Good Looking Motorcycles That You’ve Owned
Some great bikes to own and ride perhaps but not many "good looking" ones have made it onto the thread.......

Chris, either you are brilliant at Photoshopping yourself and the Innova onto incredible scenery or you are a truly inspirational biker who puts most of us to shame with your fantastic adventures on the surprisingly capable Honda. I know which one my money is on. Thanks for all the entertaining post...

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan - The Adventure Begins
Adventure steele, I noticed that earlier in this thread you had a few bikes on your wish list one of which was an XT500. A good few years go I had a really good one that had a minor restoration, was easy to start (if you had the knack) and looked great but was ultimately a disappointment. They have ...

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan - The Adventure Begins
Did you give any thought to the latest Honda CB500x ? Not too complex, cheap, a bit heavy but ultra reliable and loads of upgrades available if reqd. There are a number of people doing Round The World trips on them with very few issues so could manage Iceland I guess. Only bad point is a bit of a la...

Re: NEW Honda XL750 Transalp LAUNCHED
Honda already have a cheaper less complex bike with the CB500X so I guess they though the new Transalp should fill the gap between the CB500X and the Africa Twin which it does appear to do in many respects. Now if only the weather would improve I might just get to ride my recently purchased CB500X w...

Re: South American tour
I really hope things turn out for the best, not sure of what is known about the situation in general but found this from a google search :- On 9 January 2023, Peruvian National Police shot at protesters in Juliaca during the 2022–2023 Peruvian political protests. At least 17 were killed and over 100...

Re: The Yamaha Tenere thread
I would say you will have no trouble with the engine running out of steam as its a belter, had it in my XSR and it was more than enough on the road, though that was without a pillion or camping gear. Good luck with your choice, its half of the fun researching and trying new bikes, I have just pulled...

Honda CB500X 2021 advice
Hi, just put the deposit down on a 2021 CB500X and wonder if there are any forum members with experience of the bike who can offer any sound advice regarding must have accessories. It already has hand and engine guards, heated grips and a centre stand but will need pannier rails and a hugger for sta...
