Re: *%^**!!!

Simple global warming--warmer air can carry more moisture and hence any rainfall is more extreme. The biggest worry is that ice melt in the Artic will stop the Atlantic conveyor currents and then we will get a lot colder--not even thinking about sea level rise and coastal flooding--London will need ...

Re: Steering stem cracks

I look forward to the metallurgy report on this interesting "fault"--perhaps try some two part crack detector in the area---red dye, wipe clean and then white developer--the red die will soak through from the crack and show up against the white overspray.

Re: Steering stem cracks

I cannot understand why the "cracks " are so open yet there appears to be NO deformation of the stem (alignment) that would cause them to open, and no hairline cracks either side which you would expect. To me they just look like nicks from a cutting disc. However, replacement is the best c...

Re: KLR 650 ABS base model

Now that is an unusual fault on a new bike--glad you have it sorted and good luck--spring is on the way !!. I've just sold an R1100RS and bought a F800 GT--yet to pick it up --seems much lighter than the 1100 and I can get my leg over the seat (just) --and its a standard seat--lower options are avai...

Re: BMW R1100RS 1993 46k--NOW SOLD

I even replaced the calipers and the master cylinder piston assembly to sort the brakes out before sale--something that I should have done some time ago---I think its gone to a good home. I'm now looking for a BMW F800 GT with full luggage etc--a bit lighter to wheel about and with a more relaxed ri...

Re: Daily travel budget in Europe this year ?

I use Dover -Calais because I have a fair way to travel down, so about 11.00 ish or and hour earlier. You lose and hour anyway--but at least I can have a good breakfast and be down near Rouen by 5 pm local time ready to pitch up, pop to the supermarket for food and wine and also some croissants for ...

Re: Daily travel budget in Europe this year ?

To be honest municipal camp sites are between 10 and 15 Euros, and quality supermarket food is only about 20 Euros a day tops. With 70 MPG on a 250 fuel costs are only about 30 euros a day--so 80 euros a day all in suits me.

Re: kove 800

It's about the same weight as a twin cylinder 800cc rally bike from the 80's, it's what bikes in this class should weigh but there are some parts missing and I'd guess this is a pre production bike for testing. I'm not sure but it doesnt appear to have ABS which is going to restrict it in some mark...

Re: Warning light issue and recovery/warranty bigger issue.

If its only traction control and ABS warning but riding ok then I would ride it. However, best consult the interweb for expert opinions. My 2007 Yam WR250R allows you to access the fault codes from the dash, then I check against the crib sheet I carry, and then I can clear them (but they could come ...
