Re: The RAC and the motorcyclist
A few weeks ago now I was travelling from just north of Rouen to Calais on my R1100RS--it was wet--I was on the motorway when the bike suddenly cut out at 70. I stopped on the hard shoulder, tried a restart, waggled fuses, swapped relays etc but nothing--it would crank but not fire. I'm with McKenzi...

Re: Balkan Motorcycle Insurance
These days check your standard green card coverage--e.g. CN--simply because of the spread of countries that are "in" the EU.

Re: New Beta Alp 4
In a sensible world it would be, but a lean engine produces NOx. So, its all about having a furnace-like cat to burn the hydrocarbons etc down. NOxis a high temperature combustion product so I don't agree with your comment. With a 3 way catalyst then the deNOx bit only works when there is no spare ...

Re: Biking Brotherhood?
I have to say that in France etc all bikers acknowledge each other. In the UK I always give a hand wave. Interestingly its generally modern BMW GS riders that don't respond--probably spoils their image to acknowledge those on less expensive bikes .

Re: Has the time come for more comuter bikes
I'm retired and have had loads of bikes over the years--years ago even commuted on an MZ250 50 miles each way--40k in two years. I have recently tried a Burgman 400 for a year--even went to Spa, and camping in the UK of course. It did it well at 70 mpg BUT, despite the huge underseat storage and wea...

Re: YULETIDE RALLY 2023 REVIVED its back on
For the UK thats cheap--but just a bit more than France of course. In the overall scheme of things the cost of camping compared to fuel, food, gear and so on (plus the odd pint) is pretty insignificant--why bother to post your negative reason rather than just not post at all. People put a lot of eff...

Re: Itchy Boots Rides a Pre Production Himalayan 450
I think they are different markets--the Enfield is much more suited to decent travel on rough roads with a lower seat and a good subframe and side racks---the Rally is not exactly light, needs money spent on suspension , pannier frames , rack and so on--it may well be more offroad capable but how ma...

Re: Itchy Boots Rides a Pre Production Himalayan 450
Definitely a lot more purposeful than the current Himalayan--I like the styling and the motor sounds like its got some go in it. Price will be interesting as it has to compete with Voge, Triumph and so on.
