Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Sorry to hear that Erik, but I completely understand. I had a CBF125 which I enjoyed riding up to Scotland and back, but then it broke down on me on a couple of occasions. I did eventually fix the issue but in the back of my mind I was wondering what would happen next…. So, same as you, sold it. You...

Re: Wet weather trousers
I’ve got accustomed to wearing two pairs of cheap waterproofs. My theory is that the hydrostatic head does not cope with the driving speed and sat on seat stance so another light pair on the outside cuts down the force of the rain and the inside keeps it dry…. It worked for me on the autobahns but n...

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Got the bracket welded and then fixed up my pannier system and took it for a ride. With the panniers on it makes it just a little wider than the front end so I’m going to need to remember that when filtering.
I quite like it’s new look…

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Getting a bracket welded up for the pannier rack on the PCX125….. and yes that is two brackets from a set of blinds.
I do wish I could weld, but I feel like the cost and space might be a bit too much

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
I think a CCM bobber at 600cc is only dry weight of 140kg that’s lighter than my loaded pcx125

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
It’s interesting the weight of bikes, the varadero 125 is 149kg. Considered pretty heavy for a 125.
I’d use the cc size as a small bike, probably under 250cc, it creates a nice definition for the small bike class

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
I did some of the Andalusia trip (road only) many years ago when I flew to Malaga and rented a ybr125 for a week then returned the following year. The YBR125 felt slightly underpowered compared to other 125s though returned a great mpg and carried me in comfort. Granada, Grazaleema, arcos de fronter...

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
In May I’m planning a long week riding down to Bardonecchia and then a couple of days off-road riding on my Innova. Just hoping for some good weather
Got a few weeks to do something else… maybe Poland on the PCX later in the year.
And you Erik?

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Thought I’d spend some quality time in the garage over the past couple of days and ‘adapted’ a set of Givi frames to fit my PCX. I need to get a little welding done but it will enable me to fit 45 litres in the top box. 22 litres on each side and 30 litres under the seat. That’s 120 litres!! Should ...
